BRENTWOOD, CA –– Three men suspected in an armed robbery of a gas station have been arrested and
charged.
The suspects are Christian Sanchez, 24, of Brentwood; Jonathan Sanchez, 21, of Brentwood; and Ruben Carrion-Rojas, 29, of Newark.
The Arco gas station/convenience store at 6970 Brentwood Boulevard was robbed on September 17
at approximately 7:45 a.m. Brentwood police circulated in the area, and an officer saw the suspects
attempting to flee.
All three suspects were soon apprehended.
“No one was injured as a result of this incident,” according to a prepared statement from Brentwood police. “Thanks to the reporting party’s detailed description
and prompt response of officers, this case concluded successfully.”
The trio implicated was transported and booked at the Martinez Detention Facility. Each of the
suspects has since posted bond for release from custody. On September 19, charges were filed
against them by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
Christian Sanchez faces the most charges, as he was allegedly armed with a knife used during
the robbery. His charges include second-degree robbery, and assault by both a deadly weapon and
force likely to produce great bodily injury. He is also charged with use of a deadly\dangerous weapon,
and a special allegation for a serious felony.
Jonathan Sanchez and Carrion-Rojas are both charged with second-degree robbery. The two
Sanchez men are scheduled to appear for arraignment on October 14. Arraignment for Carrion-Rojas
is set to happened on October 21.
