Suspects Arrested for Assault and Robbery of Elderly Man near Rossmoor Community

WALNUT CREEK — Four suspects were arrested following an assault and robbery of an elderly man
near the Rossmoor gated community.
The victim was attacked on August 7 at approximately 11 p.m., and the suspects were apprehended a short time later.
Two of the suspects are 18-year-old women from Concord, Antonia Abdul-Wajid and Jaycee W.
Behnke. The other two suspects are girls, ages 15 and 17, from Walnut Creek.
The incident happened on the 900 block of Tice Valley Road. Responding officers found the man
suffering from injuries.
They learned that his attackers stole personal property from him, and fled the
scene by vehicle Walnut Creek police credit witnesses for providing information, which helped police find the vehicle
used by the suspects.
The vehicle was intercepted and the four suspects were placed under arrest without further incident.
Abdul-Wajid and Behnke were booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
Abdul-Wajid is no longer in custody. Incidentally, Abdul-Wajid has a prior arrest in April for battery on her record.
Meanwhile, Behnke remains in custody in lieu of $80,000 bond.
Abdul-Wajid and Behnke are each charged with second-degree robbery, and assault by force likely to
produce great bodily injury.
The two juveniles were taken to Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall. They
were booked on suspicion of robbery, assault, causing injury to an elder, and conspiracy to commit a
crime.
