Woodland Police Arrest Probationer with Firearm & Drugs During Nighttime Bicycle Stop

WOODLAND, CA —  “On Monday, June 30, 2025, at approximately 9:50 PM, a Woodland Police Officer stopped a bicyclist near Cannery Road and Industrial Way for riding without a light at night.

During the stop, officers learned the rider—38-year-old Rudy Gonzales of Woodland—was on searchable probation and had a prior violent felony conviction. A firearm and multiple magazines were observed in Gonzales’s unzipped backpack. Officers also located a controlled substance in his shoes and drug paraphernalia in his pocket. As a result, Gonzales was arrested and booked into Yolo County Jail for multiple weapons violations and drug-related charges.

We remain committed to keeping our community safe. If you see something suspicious, say something. Report suspicious activity to Woodland Police Department at 530-666-2411.”
