Yolo County Man Arrested for Drug Possession, Child Endangerment and More

YOLO COUNTY — A  Yolo County man was arrested on Monday, April 11, 2016 after Sheriff’s detectives found a marijuana butane honey oil lab at a rural residence in Dunnigan.

After conducting a search, not only was approximately 200 marijuana plants and more than 60 lbs. of processed marijuana and approximate 8 grams of concentrated cannabis found with lab processing equipment and a loaded firearm, but two small children ages 6 and 9 years along with numerous dogs, goats and rabbits, said Yolo County Sheriff’s officials.

The Yolo County Narcotics Enforcement team was called to take control of the situation and arrest Cody Grimes, 39. Child Protective Services and Animal Control were also called to the house in the 2800 block of the Country Road 88B to assist in caring for the children and taking possession of the animals that appeared to be malnourished.

Grimes was arrested and booked in Yolo County Jail. He faces numerous charges that include suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, a felon in possession of ammunition, child endangerment, manufacturing a controlled substance and possession for sales of marijuana.

Honey oil, also called hash oil is made from marijuana.
