“On April 4, 2024, the KCSO Deputies operating our Sheriff’s Office airplane (Air -1) located a recently reported stolen vehicle near Highway 198 and Highway 41, in Lemoore. Air-1 followed the stolen vehicle and attempted to have KCSO ground units conduct an enforcement stop on it.

Unfortunately, due to the speeds in which the stolen vehicle was traveling, ground Deputies were unable to catch up to it. Air-1 followed the stolen vehicle into Fresno County and alerted the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office. For unknown reasons, the driver of the stolen vehicle began travelling northbound on Highway 41 in the southbound lanes. The stolen vehicle was not being pursued by ground units and the reasons for the driver’s actions are not known.

The driver then abandoned the vehicle near an orchard and ran away. Air-1 directed Fresno County ground units to the driver’s location as he attempted to hide in a fenced area of a nearby business. The driver was taken into custody and the stolen vehicle was returned to its owner.”
