A Kings County man who is currently on probation was taken into custody after allegedly being caught with an unregistered firearm.

Just before 4 AM on Friday, November 26, a patrol deputy pulled over a vehicle after reportedly witnessing the driver run a stop sign in the area of Jersey and 18th Avenues in Lemoore.

The deputy spoke with the three occupants, one of whom identified himself as Jimmy Quair. According to the Sheriff’s Office, this was soon found to be a false name; the man’s name was actually Carlos Quair (28), and he was currently on probation out of Tulare County and thus subject to search.

The deputy searched the area of the car where Quair had been sitting and discovered an unregistered .40 caliber Glock with twelve rounds of ammo in the magazine, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Quair was ultimately arrested and booked on suspicion of false identification to a peace officer, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and probation violation.
