Man Arrested for Allegedly Driving Under the Influence, Narcotics Possession

“Last night Officer Alva conducted a traffic stop in the area of Central Ave. and E St. where she contacted 49-year-old Shae Hatanaka. During Officer Alva’s investigation, she observed several indicators that Shae was under the influence of illegal narcotics. K9 Officer Ulf assisted with an exterior search of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of drugs inside. As a result of Officer Alva’s investigative persistence and K9 Officer Ulf’s brilliant sense of smell, approximately 27 grams of methamphetamine were located inside the vehicle. These dangerous drugs have now been removed from the streets of Madera thanks to our officer’s collaborative efforts and Shae was booked on multiple drug related charges.”
