MADERA – The MPD would like to remind its citizens that while it is legal to possess an ounce of marijuana, it is still “against the law to sell marijuana without the proper permits.”
On Friday night Brian Lopez and Araceli Cruz were arrested for possessing marijuana for sales.
One reader on the MPD Facebook page suggested that the city “allow a cannibas shop to open” in order to help possibly curtail such sales.
Here are some other drug-related arrests that night in Madera –
Rafael Herrera was arrested for DUI after he was involved in a hit and run accident.
That same night Catarino Mendoza was also arrested for DUI.
Heriberto Chapa was arrested for possessing drug paraphernalia and his passenger, Derrick Epperson, was arrested for being in possession of heroin, hydrocodone and promethazine.
Finally, Victor Reyes was arrested for possessing meth. Thus ended a busy night for the MPD.
