“On December 16th at 10:29 AM, Napa Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call for service reporting a verbal dispute coming from a residential accessory dwelling unit (ADU) in the rear yard behind a main home located in the 500 block of Montgomery Street. The reporting party indicated they heard a man’s voice saying, “I’m going to shoot you!” Neighbors then heard three gunshots.

Upon receiving the initial report, Napa Police and Napa Sheriff’s Office patrol units responded to the scene. CHP Napa Air Unit – H30 – also sent overhead air resources to the area. Emergency medical services via Napa Fire and AMR staged for assistance. Drone resources were also used to help identify any possible threats to officers and/or public safety.

Dispatch discovered the identities of possible residents that included a man and woman. The man had a legal firearm registered to him, but it was not confirmed if the individuals were the involved parties. Patrol Officers were able to secure the area, evacuate neighbors as appropriate, and SWAT and Crisis Negotiators were called to the scene.

Officers on scene were able to see a person inside the ADU residence. Negotiators attempted to contact the occupants in English and Spanish without success. Investigators obtained a search warrant for the home and SWAT personnel prepared to serve the warrant due to the high risk involving a firearm.

At 2:23 PM, Marlo Angeleri and Patrick Sheehan ultimately exited the home. They were detained without further incident. Officers were able to contact Colleen Angeleri inside the residence and she eventually exited the residence and was detained.

After a complete search of the residence, officers were able to confirm all occupants of the involved residence were accounted for. A .40 caliber pistol was located inside the residence as well as evidence that the firearm was fired inside the residence. Two people were treated for apparent minor injuries. The three individuals were booked into the Napa Department of Corrections for
delaying/obstructing a peace officer. The incident is still under investigation.

The Napa Police Department would like to thank our public safety partners (Napa Sheriff’s Office, CHP Napa Air Ops, Napa Fire, AMR Medical, and the Napa District Attorney’s Office) for their swift response and resources to help keep our community safe. We also appreciate the patience of the neighbors who were impacted by this incident.”
