Gang arrest leads to multiple Weapons being Confiscated

SAN RAMON — Kameron F. Kaywood, 34, of San Ramon, and other identified criminal gang members were arrested in April. Weapons and ammunition were seized during a multi-agency law

enforcement operation in several cities.

The suspects are implicated in violent and property crimes throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. San Francisco PD spearheaded a massive investigation. Agencies that assisted include the BART, Martinez, Oakland, Pleasant Hill, San Ramon, and Walnut Creek police departments.

Kaywood and others face charges in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Kaywood is being held in custody in lieu of $500,000 bond at the West County Detention Facility in Richmond.

Kaywood faces charges for possession of an assault rifle and possession of a large capacity magazine. Additional charges include felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person, and probation violation.

Dajaun Menifee, 34, of Hercules, was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility for an outstanding warrant from Oakland. His firearm-related charges include possession of a large capacity magazine, and possession of a firearm while on probation.

Johnnie Leonard, 23, of Alameda, was booked at Alameda County Santa Rita Jail for an outstanding warrant from Oakland. He faces firearm-related charges, including possession of a large capacity magazine.

Other agencies that participated in this law enforcement action include the Contra Costa County and Solano County SWAT teams. The FBI and federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms also provided help in this ongoing investigation.
