DUBLIN — Authorities suspect a golf coach arrested this week for his third time this year has continuously sexually abused children. The 52-year-old coach remains in custody in lieu of $1.1 million bond.

The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office suspects that longtime coach, Ki Su Kim from Fremont, preys on young girls taking lessons at golf academies located throughout the San Francisco Bay area.

Kim’s latest arrest stems from accusations made by a 12-year-old girl. She like other girls before her claims that Kim touched her inappropriately during golf lessons.

Kim allegedly touched the 12-year-old under her clothes several times. This included inside her underwear, before she reported her allegations in March.

Prior to arresting Kim, detectives monitored a phone call between the 12-year-old girl and Kim. Authorities say Kim contradicted himself during that conversation by apologizing to the girl, and then denying that he touched her inappropriately.

Detectives subsequently arrested Kim and booked himat the Martinez Detention Facility on July 3. They charged Kim with continuous sexual abuse of a child, and forcible sexual penetration with a foreign object.

Earlier this year, Kim was arrested in March and June on suspicion of committing continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14.

The Sheriff’s Office believe Kim may have more victims of child sexual abuse. Anyone with information concerning possible sexual abuse involving Kim can call 510-225-5831.
