Sutter County Sheriff’s Office Makes Narcotics Arrest

“On Tuesday January 17th, Sheriff’s Deputies made a traffic enforcement stop near the 2200 block of Butte House Road. A Sutter County Deputy contacted four occupants in the vehicle, which included two minors, ages 16 and 4 years of age. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 24-year-old Francisco Ramirez and the adult passenger was identified as 18-year-old Anthony Jose Arroyo

Ramirez was determined to be on parole and Arroyo was found to have an active misdemeanor warrant. A search of the vehicle was completed, and the investigating deputy located two loaded firearms, narcotics, scales, and cash.

Ramirez was arrested and booked on a variety of charges to include: Carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, being a felon in possession of a firearm, child abuse, possession of narcotics for sale, as well as additional penal code, health and safety code and the vehicle code violations. Ramirez is being held on a parole hold and $50,000 bail.

Arroyo was arrested and booked on a variety of charges to include: Carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, child abuse, possession of narcotics for sale, as well as additional penal code and health and safety code violations. Arroyo is being held on a warrant and $50,000 bail.

A petition was completed on the 16-year-old male passenger, and he was booked into juvenile hall on charges of carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, child abuse, possession of narcotics for sale, being a minor in possession of a loaded firearm, possession of ammunition, as well as additional penal code and health and safety code violations.

The 4-year-old child was turned over to Child Protective Services.

“This was a great investigation and representative of the good work our deputies do on a daily basis to protect our communities,” Sheriff Barnes said.”
