Sutter County woman accused of kidnapping daughter during supervised visit

YUBA CITY — A Sutter County woman has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping following a supervised visit.

On Thursday, August 15th, 30-year-old Chancey Darmond was with her 6-year-old daughter for a supervised visitation and allegedly drove away with the child in the car.

Yuba City Police Department detectives, along with the Sutter County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol, later found them both at a motel in the nearby town of Linda.

Darmond was arrested and subsequently booked into the Sutter County Jail for kidnapping.
