Yuba City police make arrests in two separate drug cases

The Yuba City Police Department has announced multiple arrests and the seizure of narcotics in two separate cases in late May.

In the first, on May 10th, investigators arrested 25-year-old Gerardo Garcia Garcia and 26-year-old Juan Castro Garcia on Bridge Street, reportedly finding them to be in possession of nearly three pounds of methamphetamine.

Investigators later served a search warrant at two locates believed to be associated with the two, locating around five pounds of processed marijuana, police said.

Both have since been booked at the Sutter County jail.

A week later, on May 17th, police arrested 22-year-old Gerardo Chica, also on Bridge Street, on suspicion of intent to contribute a controlled substance. Officers reportedly found around 5,000 counterfeit oxycodone pills believed to be laced with fentanyl on him.

Officers also searched Chica’s vehicle and located almost a hundred more counterfeit pills, 1.5 grams of cocaine, a little over $1,000 in cash, and a digital scale, police said.

Chica was arrested and booked at the Sutter County Jail.
