Sutter County: Two arrested amid investigation into string of catalytic converter thefts

“For the past year, the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office along with surrounding agencies have been experiencing an increasing number of Catalytic Converter Thefts.
Sutter County Detectives along with Yuba City PD and other allied agencies have dedicated numerous manhours following up on as many leads as the could locate. Early June, Sutter County Detectives became aware of information from prior thefts that led them to two possible suspects, who resided within Sutter County.
On 6/7/2021, Sutter County detectives served a search warrant on a residence within the 700 block of Franklin Road relating to this lengthy theft investigation.
Based on the investigation, and the evidence found at the residence, which in part consisted of five 5 Catalytic Converters and portions of eight 8 additional converters two suspects were taken into custody.
Both David Gilbert, 45 years of age and Erin Gregg, 33 years of age, both from Yuba City were arrested and charged with the following crimes: Grand Theft, Conspiracy to commit theft, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both suspects were booked into the Sutter County Jail.”
