SIU Arrests Yuba City Resident in Drug Probe at Queen Penny Tire
YUBA CITY, CA — Agents with the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) arrested a 49-year-old Yuba City resident Monday following a targeted search warrant execution linked to narcotics trafficking at a local commercial establishment.
On August 31, 2026, SIU agents executed a search warrant at Queen Penny Tire, located at 500 Colusa Avenue. During the search of the property, investigators located and seized approximately 46.23 grams of methamphetamine, 0.28 grams of cocaine, digital scales, packaging materials, a Ruger 10/22 rifle, three handgun magazines, and ammunition.
Law enforcement officers took Ranjit Powar, 49, into custody at the scene. Powar was transported and booked into the Sutter County Jail.
Powar faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including being a felon in possession of a firearm, a prohibited person in possession of ammunition, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance with prior convictions, and violation of Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS).
Public records indicate this is far from Powar’s first brush with the law, as he has been arrested multiple times in recent years for allegations including weapons offenses, vehicle theft, DUI, warrants, and various drug charges.
