Suspect Arrested in Connection with September 2023 Drive-By Shooting in Yuba City
A Sutter County man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with an alleged drive-by shooting in the fall of 2023.
According to a press release by the county Sheriff’s Office, deputies had responded to a report of a drive-by shooting on the night of September 2, 2023, in the area of Hunn Road and Highway 99 in Yuba City. One victim was injured but nobody was killed.
Investigators identified the primary suspect in the shooting as 20-year-old Alfonso Banuelos of Yuba City.
On January 31 of this year, investigators served a felony search warrant in the area of Barrington Drive and Pelican Place, where Banuelos was living. Investigators reportedly seized a firearm during the search, and took Banuelos into custody.
Banuelos was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, conspiracy, discharging a firearm in public, and accessory.
