Suspect Arrested After Fleeing from Police and Crashing Motorcycle

“On 01/16/2023 hours, Corning Police Officers were conducting routine patrol near the intersection of Barham Avenue and Samson Avenue due to recent narcotics activity. Officer’s observed a motorcycle enter a residence’s driveway known for narcotics activity. The motorcyclist made contact with occupants at the residence for several minutes and then left the property. Corning Police Officers attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on the motorcycle for failing to stop at a stop sign and having an illegible license plate.

The motorcycle fled from Officers at speeds in excess of 100 MPH. Officers lost sight of the motorcycle near the area of Freeman School House Road and Simpson Road. Officers searched the area and eventually located the motorcycle crashed, laying along the roadway, near the intersection of Simpson road and Paskenta Road. The motorcyclist was located laying nearby with moderate injuries.

The suspect was identified as Donald Whitehead, age 52, of Corning. Donald admitted to fleeing from Officer’s due to having a suspended license. Donald was transported by medical personnel to Enloe Medical Center for treatment.

Charges were filed against Donald with the Tehama County District Attorney’s Office.”
