Authorities Seize Weapons & Narcotics After Serving a Search Warrant in the Platina Area
PLATINA, CA — On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, detectives with the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office and agents from the Major Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a residential property in the 5200 block of Highway 36 West in Platina as part of an ongoing narcotics trafficking investigation.
During the search, law enforcement personnel located 323 growing marijuana plants along with evidence consistent with commercial sales and distribution. Detectives also seized six firearms and multiple high-capacity magazines from the site. The confiscated weapons included two prohibited assault rifles, one manufactured as an unregistered “ghost gun” lacking a serial number and another modified with an illegally shortened barrel.
During the execution of the warrant, investigators observed an individual, identified as Yao Her, attempting to flee the cultivation area on foot. Her was detained without incident and booked into the Tehama County Jail.
His charges include marijuana cultivation, possession of marijuana for sale, maintaining a place for drug sales, possession of a high-capacity magazine, possession of a short-barreled rifle, possession of an assault weapon, and possession of an un-serialized firearm. Detectives additionally seized two vehicles under state asset forfeiture provisions.
