Construction Worker Suspected of Drug Dealing is Arrested at Target Store

SAN RAFAEL — An extensive undercover investigation culminated in the arrest of a construction worker suspected of dealing drugs. The man was in possession of a large quantity of suspected narcotics when he was arrested.

Christian Diaz-Villatoro, 29, a resident of Oakland, was arrested at the Target store at 125 Shoreline Parkway. Diaz-Villatoro was apprehended September 6 at 8:40 p.m. by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect was booked at Marin County Jail at 10:05 p.m. Diaz-Villatoro is being held in custody in lieu of $150,000 bond. He is considered a danger to the public, according to a prepared statement released by the sheriff’s office.

A case against Diaz-Villatoro was developed during several months of investigation. An undercover detective arranged a meeting with him to buy crystal methamphetamine. That transaction took place in San Rafael.

During an ongoing investigation, Diaz-Villatoro allegedly sold more than 12 ounces of methamphetamine to an undercover detective.

At the time of his arrest, authorities recovered more than 2.5 pounds of fentanyl. Other narcotics recovered included –
*173 grams of heroin
*143 grams of methamphetamine
*44 grams of cocaine
*200 oxycodone pills
*30 Xanax pills

Diaz-Villatoro was booked on charges for possession and transportation of methamphetamine for sale. He also faces charges for possession of cocaine for sale, and possession and transportation of controlled substances for sale.

Incidentally, he also was arrested in October 2021 for possession and transportation of illicit drugs in San Francisco.
