A Santa Ana man is behind bars after a woman accused him of kidnapping and raping her in a vacant house.

The suspect, 30-year-old Juan Aguilar Garcia, was booked for multiple sexual assault-related charges at Orange County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.

The victim, a 40-year-old Santa Ana resident, called police around 10:30 PM on April 30th, right after the attack.  She told police that she was standing in front of her complex, located in the 1600 block of North Ross, when Garcia came up to her and asked for directions to a gas station.

“As the victim began to give directions, Garcia covered the victim’s mouth then picked her up and carried her to a nearby vacant house,” said Santa Ana police.  “The victim screamed and fought Garcia but was unable to break free.”

Garcia subsequently sexually assaulted the woman inside the house.  She continued to resist Garcia and was finally able to flee back to her home, where she called police.

“The victim directed officers to the house where Garcia sexually assaulted her. Officers located Garcia inside the vacant house and arrested him.”

Detectives believe there may be other victims and are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Jorge Garcia at 714-245-8732, jgarcia@santa-ana.org or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS.
