Two Arrested at Shopping Center for Vehicle Theft, Drugs, Identity Theft

NOVATO — A stolen car with stolen license plates found at a shopping center parking lot contained illicit drugs and stolen property. The two occupants of the car were arrested and booked at Marin County Jail.

Police contacted the occupants of the white Honda Accord on April 29 at 6:42 p.m. The license plates on the car were reported stolen in Daly City.

A check of the VIN number revealed that the car was reported stolen in San Francisco. Both individuals were detained at the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center while officers searched the car.

Officers located suspected methamphetamine and cocaine, along with drug paraphernalia. The car also contained a large amount of new clothing with tags still attached. Officers also found alcohol suspected of being stolen.

The search also turned up personal identification items neither belonging to the driver nor passenger. These IDs belong to victims of identity theft from throughout the San Francisco Bay area.

Arnold L. Lampkins, 43 of Pacifica, and his companion Ama A. Jacques, 43 of San Francisco, are both in trouble. They were taken into custody in front of the Sports Basement store at approximately 7 p.m.

Lampkins remains behind bars on open charges and on hold for outstanding arrest warrants. His charges include possession of narcotics, vehicle theft and possession of stolen property. His outstanding warrants are for burglary, grand theft, identity theft and receiving stolen property.

Meanwhile, Jacques is no longer being held in custody. However, she faces charges for illicit drug possession, identity theft, and possession of metal knuckles.
