San Mateo police have announced the arrests of two suspects in connection to an execution-style murder back in 2020.

On the morning of April 18, 2022, police arrested John “Talia” Passi (29) in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Isileli Mahi (30) in Honolulu, Hawaii, in connection to the October 2020 homicide of Ueta Savelio Muasika Jr. Muasika’s 2-year-old son was also reportedly injured by gunfire, police said.

Late on the morning of October 30, 2020, the two suspects allegedly ambushed Muasika in front of his own home on Eleanor Drive, in what police allege was a targeted shooting. Muasika was found dead and his son found having suffered a gunshot wound to the face. The child has since recovered, according to San Mateo PD.

Passi and Mahi both face charges of murder and are awaiting extradition back to San Mateo County, police said.
