Torrance man arrested for attempted murder after shooting gun during bar fight in Anaheim

A Torrance man has been arrested for attempted murder after he allegedly fired a handgun multiple times during a fight during a bar fight in Anaheim.

Jairo Esteven Quijano, 36, was arrested nearly three weeks after the incident.  He was booked at Orange County Jail for attempted murder, negligent discharge of a firearm, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The altercation took place around midnight on March 19th at 99 Bottles and Cocktails, located on Katella Avenue.  The fight between Quijano and the other individuals began inside the bar and ended outside after security kicked them out.  Once the fight was moved outdoors, Quijano “left the altercation and returned with a handgun firing multiple rounds, including one in the direction of a 34-year-old female,” according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department press release.

He subsequently fled the scene in a Dodge Charger, driving eastbound on Katella Avenue.  The woman who was shot was treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital.

Quijano was identified as the gunshot suspect and then arrested on April 7th.

No additional details regarding the case have been released.
