San Francisco police announce arrests in connection to retail theft

San Francisco police have arrested two individuals on suspicion of retail theft.

22-year-old Fredi Arriaga-Rendon and 20-year-old Darrel Brookins were detained on the afternoon of Sunday, December 12, after patrol officers spotted them and one other getting out of a parked vehicle on Sunnyside Avenue, next to which was a pile of discarded clothing tags and hangers. Officers also noticed plastic bags containing clothes and security sensors inside the vehicle.

While one of the suspects fled on foot, officers were able to detain Arriaga-Rendon and Brookins. Officers also searched the vehicle and reportedly found almost a hundred articles of clothing stolen Nike, Levi’s, Ralph Lauren, and more, many of which still had the security tags attached.

Both suspects were ultimately booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property and possession of burglary tools, among other charges.
