SFPD Cold Case Unit Arrests Suspect in Connection with 2008 Homicide Investigation

SAN FRANCISCO, CA —The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) Homicide Detail Cold Case Unit has arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide that occurred in 2008.

On April 27, 2008, at approximately 6:10 p.m., an adult male victim was shot and killed on the 500 block of Fulton Street. SFPD Homicide investigators responded to the scene and initiated an investigation into the fatal shooting.

The case was later taken over by investigators with the SFPD Cold Case Unit. Through the course of the ongoing investigation, authorities identified 40-year-old Derreyl Goode as the suspect. Investigators established probable cause to obtain a Ramey Arrest Warrant for Goode, who was located residing in Las Vegas, Nevada.

On August 17, 2026, SFPD investigators coordinated with the U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Task Force (PSWRFTF) to locate and arrest Goode in Los Angeles, California. Following his arrest, Goode was taken to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, where he was met by SFPD Cold Case investigators. He was booked on his outstanding arrest warrant for homicide under California Penal Code 187(a)PC.

Authorities noted that although an arrest has been made, the case remains an open and active investigation. The San Francisco Police Department asks anyone with relevant information regarding the incident to contact the SFPD at 1-415-575-4444 or submit an anonymous text tip to TIP411 starting with “SFPD.”
