Suspected gang member arrested on gun charges in Salinas

SALINAS — Police detained six and arrested two suspected Norteno gang members at Acosta Plaza last week.

On Saturday, October 26, officers noticed several men in gang-related clothing with affiliated tattoos drinking and smoking weed in public.

Though all were initially detained, 20-year-old Jose Aguilera was arrested after a loaded and unregistered .357 magnum revolver was found in his pocket.

22-year-old Ricardo Perez was also arrested for probation violation.
