TRUCKEE – Early on the morning of September 17th, a man tried to steal a large produce truck as it was on its morning delivery.
The driver got out of the vehicle as part of one of his deliveries at which time 27-year-old Jonathan Ascencio of Patterson then got into the truck.
Ascension tried to drive off with the truck and its load. However, he “struggled with operating the commercial vehicle and damaged several components within the interior during the process. ‘
It wan’t long before officers arrived, stopped the truck, and took Ascensio into custody.
He was booked for the charges of attempted vehicle theft and vandalism.
