TRUCKEE — Police have announced the early October arrest of an arson suspect who apparently believed he’d patched through to the Other Side.

On the night of Tuesday, October 8, an officer noticed the fire burning off West River Street and stopped a man by the name of Scott Stevenson as he was trying to leave the area.

Police say Stevenson made statements implying he’d lit the fire, was hallucinating, and believed that the fire was actually Moses talking to him.

Moses or no, Stevenson was taken into custody on suspicion of felony arson and booked at the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility in Nevada City.
