Work crew inmate flees, but doesn’t make it far

HUMBOLDT – A Humboldt County Correctional Facility inmate was discovered to be missing during a routine afternoon headcount on Monday June 3rd.  The missing work crew inmate was identified as 25 year old Corey James Allmon. The Hubmoldt County Sheriff’s Office requested the public’s help in locating Allmon, which paid off  the next morning.

Shortly before 10:30 am on Tuesday June 4th, a citizen reported to the Eureka Police Department that they saw a work crew inmate from the Humboldt County Correctional Facility running away near D and Clark Streets.

It didn’t take long for a foot pursuit to commence and capture Allmon in an alley behind the 1200 block of C Street.

Allmon was originally in custody for violation orders of his mandatory supervision. Now he faces additional charges for escape, resisting arrest and violating probation.
