Transient Arrested 24 Times all over San Francisco Bay Area

SAUSALITO — A man arrested two dozen times is in police custody again. The man is transient and this time he is locked up at Marin County Jail. He has prior arrests in jurisdictions throughout the San Francisco Bay area.

Unfortunately this known troublemaker, Christopher G. Burke, 43, has a problem with drugs. Burke has been arrested 13 times on drug-related charges.

In addition, Burke has a lengthy record of various other criminal arrests. Burke was arrested four times for vehicle thefts, five times for other thefts, and four times for possessing burglary tools.

His latest arrest happened on the morning of February 13. First, a license plate scanner alerted the Sausalito Police Department that a stolen car was detected driving within city limits.

Officers responded to the downtown Bridgeway area, where the driver of the stolen car attempted to flee. Police say Burke crashed the car into a pole, and he ran away from the scene of the accident.

Mill Valley officers and Marin County Sheriff’s deputies assisted Sausalito officers search for the suspect. Burke was found hiding inside some bushes on the 2300 block of Marinship Way.

Burke was subsequently arrested for his 24th time. This time Burke was booked for possession of stolen property, hit-and-run driving, and evading police. He remains in custody in lieu of $35,000 bail.

This marks Burke’s first arrest in Marin County. His other prior arrests happened in Palo Alto, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Campbell, Mountain View, Hayward, Alameda, and Los Angeles.
