SAN JOSE – The San Jose Police Department has announced the arrest of a fifth suspect sought in the killing of an adult male that occurred on September 28th, 2017.  At that time, the SJPD responded to a call of a person shot near the 300 block of Elan Village Lane in San Jose.

31-year-old Xingjian Li, from San Gabriel was found with multiple gunshot wounds.  He was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

From there, investigators put together a profile of five suspects sought in the gang-like killing of Li, as he sat outside an illegal brothel.

Jun Li was identified as the final suspect wanted by police and traced to the City of San Bernardino where he was found to be living.  The San Bernardino Police Department helped arrest Li on November 27, 2018, outside his residence in the 1300 block of North D Street.

According to police, after announcing the arrest of Suspects An Yan, Lin Tao and Panpan Huang for the murder of Xingjian Li and multiple other crimes, the San Jose Police Department asked for the public’s assistance in identifying two unknown suspects that were captured on surveillance video that linked them to the murder of Xingjian Li.

There were three known cases in which the five suspects were wanted in connection to robberies and sexual assaults of known prostitutes before killing Li. The first case was reported on September 27, 2017, at approximately 10:26 AM in Milpitas in which a female victim reported being robbed and sexually assaulted.

The suspects struck again on September 28, 2017, at approximately 3:00 PM, in Fremont. The suspects were wanted for a home invasion robbery in which three female victims reported being robbed at gunpoint, and one woman also reported being sexually assaulted.

The suspects were also linked to the report of a prostitute on September 29th, 2017, in South San Francisco who claimed to have been robbed and sexually assaulted at gunpoint near the 100 block of McLellan Drive in South San Francisco.

On November 7th, 2017, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department located and arrested Suspect Jason Shen at a residence in Chino, identified by the community after police sent out a request for the public’s help in identifying those responsible for the robberies and killing.
