Pleasanton Man Arrested in Multi-Agency Burglary Investigation

PLEASANTON — Juan L. Valdez-Luevano, 19, of Pleasanton, was booked into Alameda
County Santa Rita Jail on September 23. Valdez-Luevano is implicated in a multi-agency
investigation of burglaries in Alameda, Contra Costa and Santa Clara counties. Police are still
investigating additional suspects.

Five law enforcement agencies working together identified Valdez-Luevano as one of the
suspects in connection with dozens of commercial burglaries. Besides Pleasanton police,
other agencies collaborating investigations are Dublin, Livermore, Milpitas, and San Ramon
police.

Valdez-Luevano was arrested first by Dublin and San Ramon detectives, when he arrived to
meet with his Alameda County probation officer September 16. Police from multiple agencies
searched his residence in Pleasanton on the same day, and recovered evidence.

He was initially incarcerated at the Martinez Detention Facility involving warrants from Contra
Costa County jurisdictions. “Investigators have identified additional potential suspects, and
are working to establish their involvement,” San Ramon police said in a prepared statement.
Meanwhile, Valdez-Luevano was arrested again on suspicion of burglaries and transferred to
Alameda County custody on September 23. His most recent arrest pertains to a series of
burglaries that occurred in Pleasanton on September 10.

Valdez-Luevano remains in custody ineligible for release on bond. He is scheduled to appear
for arraignment September 28 at the East County Hall of Justice in Dublin. At least three
additional suspects involved in Pleasanton burglaries are still being sought.i-agency
