NAPA – A man and woman stole $8,000 of merchandise from Polo Ralph Lauren on October 19th. They left the store without paying for the items they put into large bags.

Luckily a witness saw their getaway vehicle, and were able to identify it as a newer model Dodge minivan. American Canyon PD tried to stop the van after locating it driving south on Highway 29.

The van fled at a high rate of speed and the pursuit was called to a stop as it entered Vallejo city limits. Despite the pursuit coming to an end, the thieves would not be so lucky as to get away with their crime, as the investigation had just began. Napa PD detectives eventually determined that the vehicle was rented by 22-year-old Sacramento resident Eric Hardy.

They also identified 22-year-old transient Carrell Threets as the male who had stolen the items from the store.

Napa detectives located Hardy and Threets at a residence in the 6000 block of Wyndham Drive in Sacramento.  They pair were arrested and booked in the Sacramento County Jail on charges of grand theft and conspiracy.

Hardy has another warrant for a similar crime committed at the Folsom Outlets.

Threets has nine outstanding warrants from throughout California.

Detectives are still attempting to identify the female involved in this incident.
