Jury Finds Defendant Found Guilty of Multiple Felonies Following Home Invasion Attack

NAPA, CA — A Napa County jury has convicted 34-year-old Napa resident Amador Solano of multiple felony offenses connected to a residential burglary and sexual assault.

Following a trial prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Shashawnya Worley, the jury found Solano guilty of sexual penetration by a foreign object, assault while committing a burglary, first-degree burglary with a person present, false imprisonment by violence, and making criminal threats. Solano was also convicted of misdemeanor petty theft and possession of both cocaine and methamphetamine. Jurors found true several special allegations and aggravating factors that the court may consider for sentence enhancements.

The charges stem from an incident on the evening of June 20, 2024, when Solano unlawfully entered a Napa residence while the resident was showering after returning from work. Solano entered the bathroom, pulled back the shower curtain, and sexually assaulted the victim. Despite the assailant’s threats, the victim physically fought back, forcing Solano to flee the home with her purse and wallet.

The victim immediately contacted 911. Napa Police Department officers responded and located Solano nearby on the Napa River Trail. Officers recovered the victim’s stolen property alongside quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine, taking him into custody without incident.

District Attorney Allison Haley praised the victim’s resilience during the assault and throughout her courtroom testimony as the case concluded this week.
