Three Arrested After Traffic Stop Following Theft Investigation at American Canyon Walmart
AMERICAN CANYON, CA — Three individuals were arrested on Thursday, July 23, after American Canyon Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a gray Honda Accord leaving a local Walmart shortly before 2:30 p.m.
Law enforcement initiated the stop after receiving a report that the vehicle was linked to three suspects accused of stealing merchandise and attempting to use a stolen credit card. Officers identified the occupants as Andrea Gardiner, 31, of Rohnert Park, along with Matthew Washington, 41, and Major Jordan, 39, both of Vallejo.
A search of the vehicle yielded stolen merchandise from Walmart, and all three suspects were found in possession of stolen identification cards and credit cards. Police established that Gardiner was currently on Sonoma County probation for identity theft and possession of an illegal weapon. Additionally, officers located suspected methamphetamine and a Billy club—a prohibited weapon—in Gardiner’s possession.
Further investigation and review of Walmart surveillance footage revealed that the suspects attempted to use a credit card previously stolen during a burglary in Suisun City. Investigators noted that a Glock handgun was also reported stolen during that same Suisun City burglary.
Gardiner, Washington, and Jordan were taken into custody and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections. All three face charges related to theft, identity theft, and conspiracy. Gardiner was additionally charged with violating her probation, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
