Napa Police Arrest Suspect Wanted on Burglary and Identity Theft Warrants Following Credit Card Fraud Investigation
NAPA, CA — Local law enforcement was contacted by a Napa resident on May 30 regarding a string of unauthorized credit card transactions. The victim reported that the card had been stolen and subsequently went on a multi-county run, racking up fraudulent charges across Napa, Solano, and Sonoma. Investigators with the Napa Police Department Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) identified 36-year-old Nicholas Alves as the primary suspect in the case.
Prior to the fraudulent credit card report, Alves was already wanted by law enforcement on two separate felony warrants stemming from previous burglary and identity theft investigations. On June 4, 2026, patrol officers located and arrested Alves on the outstanding warrants. Following the arrest, SEU detectives executed a search warrant at his residence, where they discovered suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, brass knuckles, and physical evidence linking him to identity theft and stolen property offenses.
Alves faces several new felony charges associated with the recent burglary and identity theft cases. In a related update, the Napa Police Department noted it has received multiple reports of vehicles being rummaged through in the Browns Valley neighborhood during the early morning hours of Monday, June 1, 2026, and is advising residents to report any missing property or unauthorized account activity.
