Suspect arrested day after high-speed chase in Vallejo

AMERICAN CANYON — Police have arrested a man a day after having to break off a high-speed chase out of concern for public safety.

The pursuit, which reached speeds up to 100 MPH, began after officers spotted a man driving without license plates in Vallejo.

The next day, an officer spotted the vehicle parked near an apartment complex on the 400 block of Tapestry Lane in American Canyon.

As police began the process of towing the car, two people exited one of the apartments. Lo and behold, one of them turned out to be the driver from the day before.

25-year-old Xavier DeMarco Walden was arrested and booked at the Napa County jail on suspicion of reckless evading a peace officer.

He has since been released after posting $50,000 bail.
