Police: Man Killed in Officer-Involved Shooting Had ‘Shiny Metal Object, Held It As If a Firearm’

Angelo Moreno, who died Friday in an officer-involved shooting after a pursuit, pulled up a shiny metal object from his truck and “held it as if it were a firearm,” according to a statement Tuesday by Napa County Sheriff’s Office.

Moreno died of multiple gunshot wounds and he tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine and marijuana, according to preliminary autopsy results, said Napa County Sheriff’s Capt. Tracey Stuart.

Moreno, said by police to be a homeless man from the Vallejo and Martinez areas, is suspected of stealing the truck that he drove in the incident.
