Sacramento, Calif. (April 6, 2009) — Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a father for reportedly stabbing his son to death.

Jerry Villa, 50, was booked into the Sacramento County Jail charged with a single count of murder.

Deputies responded to a reported stabbing just before 11 p.m. Saturday night at the corner of Pasadena Aveanue and Hillswood Drive.

“Deputies arrived and found a 26-year-old male suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital where he later died,” said Sgt. Tim Curran, spokesman for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators determined that the victim lived at an address in the 3900 block of Pasadena Avenue. Deputies went to the home and detained two female adults and Villa, the victim’s father.

After being questioned by homicide detectives, Villa was arrested and booked. The two women were released after being questioned. Detectives do not believe they were involved in the murder.

Detectives believe the victim and his father had an ongoing dispute which culminated with the stabbing. Villa is scheduled to be arraigned 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
