Honey oil lab explodes, injuring resident

“On Monday afternoon at approximately 3:00 pm, Deputies responded to the 16000 block of Meridian Road in the unincorporated area of Prunedale, for a report of an explosion.
After arriving on scene, deputies located 35-year-old Francisco Ponce of Watsonville in the area with significant injuries.
During the investigation detectives determined a Butane Honey Oil Lab at the residence exploded, injuring Ponce. Detectives arrested 39-year-old Jorge Herrera of Salinas.
Herrera was booked into county jail for manufacturing a controlled substance and other drug related charges.
