Huntington Beach PD Reports Four Driving Under The Influence Arrests on Halloween Night
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Officers with the Huntington Beach Police Department arrested four motorists on driving under the influence charges during an overnight patrol shift spanning Halloween night and early Sunday morning.
Department officials reported that each of the four incidents stemmed from preventable decisions involving substance impairment. In one encounter, officers discovered an impaired motorist unconscious behind the wheel. The remaining three arrests occurred following separate vehicle collisions into fixed roadway structures, including impacts with a street light pole and a public transit bus bench.
With the winter holiday season approaching, law enforcement leadership issued a public safety advisory reminding community members that driving while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, illicit narcotics, or impairing prescription medications endangers lives and carries severe legal consequences.
Authorities urge travelers to plan ahead by designating a sober driver, utilizing rideshare and taxi services, taking public transit, or arranging rides with friends and family before attending social gatherings.
