Cypress Police Recover Two Stolen Vehicles and Arrest Four Suspects Following Surveillance Lead
CYPRESS, CA — Officers with the Cypress Police Department recovered two stolen vehicles and arrested four suspects in connection with a vehicle theft ring over the weekend.
The investigation began Friday when officers took a report regarding a white GMC Sierra pickup truck stolen overnight from a Cypress neighborhood. Review of local surveillance footage revealed a secondary suspect vehicle following the stolen GMC out of the area shortly after the theft occurred. Officers noted several distinct visual features on the suspect vehicle and disseminated the details to field personnel.
Late Saturday night, nightshift officers completing a call near Ball Road and Bloomfield Avenue spotted the suspect vehicle driving past. Officers conducted a traffic stop, leading to the arrest of two occupants on conspiracy charges and outstanding warrants.
Through investigative follow-up during the stop, officers gathered information suggesting the stolen GMC Sierra was parked at a nearby park. Responding officers located the GMC Sierra in the park’s lot, connected via jumper cables to an adjacent Cadillac Escalade.
A computer check revealed that the Escalade was also stolen. Officers detained two individuals found inside the parked vehicles. Both were subsequently arrested and booked on charges including vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, and outstanding felony arrest warrants.
Both stolen vehicles—including the GMC Sierra stolen two days prior—were recovered and returned to their respective owners.
