PORTERVILLE, CA — Two Porterville residents were arrested late Sunday night following a shooting and a subsequent multi-agency pursuit across Tulare and Kings counties.

Porterville Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire originating from a vehicle near Morton Avenue and Fourth Street at approximately 10:50 p.m. on Oct. 25, 2026. Arriving personnel discovered ballistic evidence confirming a shooting had occurred and identified three individuals who had been fired upon. No injuries were reported.

Detectives determined the shooting originated from an earlier verbal confrontation. Two of the targeted individuals were uninvolved bystanders who had stopped to offer assistance prior to the gunfire.

Patrol units subsequently located the suspect vehicle. When the driver failed to yield during an attempted traffic stop, officers initiated a pursuit that traveled through Tulare County and crossed into Kings County. The California Highway Patrol, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Air Unit, and the Kings County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the pursuit, which terminated when the suspect vehicle collided.

Officers detained both occupants, identified as 27-year-old Luis Dominguez-Aguirre and 22-year-old Ricardo Arciga-Aguirre. Both men were booked into the South County Detention Facility on multiple felony charges, with bail set at $500,000 each.

The investigation remains active. The Porterville Police Department asks anyone with relevant information to call (559) 782-7400 or submit tips anonymously through the department’s official social media pages.
