HEALDSBURG, CA — “On October 13, 2026, officers with the Healdsburg Police Department conducted a pretrial supervision compliance check on 24-year-old Healdsburg resident Angel Avila.
Avila was actively subject to felony pretrial supervision conditions stemming from a recent Santa Rosa Police Department investigation. In that prior incident, Avila was arrested in Healdsburg by SRPD for felony firearm possession following a gang related altercation in Santa Rosa. Pretrial supervision allows a defendant to be released from custody without posting bail, contingent upon strict adherence to court mandated conditions. Given the nature of his initial arrest, Avila’s release terms strictly prohibited him from possessing weapons of any kind.
During the compliance check, HPD officers located and detained Avila. A subsequent search revealed that Avila was in possession of three pairs of brass knuckles, two butterfly-style knives, and two fixed-blade knives.
Avila was transported and booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on multiple weapons charges and for violating the terms of his pretrial release.
Compliance checks on individuals under court ordered supervision is a vital component of the Healdsburg Police Departments commitment to community safety.”
