Willits Stabbing: Parolee Suspect Arrested on Suspicion of Acquaintance Multiple Times
WILLITS, CA — “On 10/01/2026 at approximately 0830 P.M, Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to Adventist Health Howard Memorial Hospital in Willits for a report of a victim who sustained multiple stab wounds.
During the investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies learned the suspect, identified as Jeffrey Allan Joaquin, requested a vehicle ride from the victim. The victim and Joaquin, who were acquaintances, arrived at a residence located in the 23000 block of Road 337D in Covelo. While at a residence, Joaquin approached the victim from behind and without warning, Joaquin stabbed the victim multiple times causing injuries.
After the assault, Joaquin fled the area and the victim was transported to the Covelo Fire Protection District to receive medical aid for the injuries.
Sheriff’s Deputies canvassed the Covelo area for Joaquin, but have been unsuccessful in locating him.
Joaquin is currently on active California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Parole and is pending sentencing on another assault with a deadly weapon case where he used an edged weapon to assault another victim.
Joaquin is currently being sought for charges related to this case as Sheriff’s Deputies continue to investigate the stabbing incident involving Joaquin.
