“Highly Intoxicated” Motorist Allegedly Caught with Loaded Gun in Healdsburg
HEALDSBURG, CA — “On October 2, 2026, at approximately 11:44 p.m., Healdsburg Police Department officers were dispatched to a ‘be on the lookout’ (BOLO) alert for a white sedan seen departing the downtown area. An observant citizen had contacted dispatch after witnessing an individual who appeared heavily intoxicated enter the vehicle and drive away.
Officers quickly located the vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 101 near Windsor and conducted a traffic stop. Upon contacting the driver, officers immediately observed significant objective signs of alcohol intoxication.
The driver was directed to exit the vehicle. During a subsequent probable cause search, officers located a loaded handgun inside the vehicle, readily accessible to the driver. A chemical test determined the driver had a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of 0.25%, more than three times California’s legal limit of 0.08%.
The driver, identified as Esteban Garciafrias of Windsor, was arrested without incident and booked into the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence and weapons related charges.”
