Officers arrest shotgun-wielding man at shopping center

PETALUMA – Responding to calls to 911, police officers on Thursday found Petaluman resident William Boone pointing a shotgun at a car in the Raley’s parking lot in the Petaluma Plaza Shopping Center.

Witnesses to the late afternoon Nov. 4 incident claim Boone was threatening to harm the two passengers in the vehicle.

On orders from the officers, Boone, 47, dropped his weapon and surrendered to police. Officers determined that victims in the car were uninjured, but were acquainted with Boone, who was booked at county jail for attempted murder and denied bail.
