Huntington Beach Police Homeless Task Force Makes Four Arrests in Three-Hour Enforcement Operation

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Officers with the Huntington Beach Police Department’s Homeless Task Force conducted a targeted proactive enforcement operation yesterday, resulting in four arrests over a three-hour span.

The initiative focused on addressing drug-related offenses, open warrants, and unlawful camping within the community.

During the detail, officers initially contacted individuals for unlawful camping violations, which led to the discovery of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and outstanding arrest warrants. Upon returning to the same location later in the shift, officers contacted another individual for unlawful camping. An investigation revealed drug residue along with multiple credit cards and government identification documents belonging to other individuals.

In a separate contact, officers stopped a man for drinking alcohol in public. A records check and search revealed active arrest warrants, active probation status, prior controlled-substance convictions, and a glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue.

In total, officers made four arrests during the three-hour detail for charges including possession of controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, unlawful camping, identity theft material, and outstanding warrants.

Department representatives stated that the Homeless Task Force will continue proactive operations to target drug activity and quality-of-life violations throughout Huntington Beach.
