Solano County Man Federally Indicted on Firearm Charges
VALLEJO, CA — “Solano County Sheriff’s Office Vallejo Contract deputies recently conducted an enforcement stop near Cedar Street and Webb Street for a vehicle code violation.
As deputies contacted the driver, identified as Nichitari Palmer, he exited the driver seat and spontaneously stated that he had a warrant. During the contact, deputies observed an AR-15-style rifle with an extended magazine in plain view, next to the driver’s seat where Palmer was just seated.
Palmer was detained without incident. A records check confirmed he had an outstanding felony warrant and was also on active California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) parole. The rifle was loaded, had a round in the chamber, and did not possess a serial number. Palmer is a convicted felon and prohibited from possession firearms.
Deputies contacted Palmer’s parole officer, who issued a parole hold pursuant to California Penal Code § 3056. Palmer was subsequently transported to the Solano County Jail. Following his arrest, and based on his criminal history, Palmer was federally indicted on firearms related charges.
The Solano County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to proactive enforcement and keeping our communities safe.”
